We've been trying very hard to think of a way to keep her even if she does test positive. At first we were trying to find a home where she'd stay the only cat and only indoors. But now that we love her so much we really want to keep her. I have a list of questions to ask our vet next week. Hopefully I'll get the answers I WANT to hear.
In the meantime, she's our little angel. That wakes me up at all hours through the night, wanting to play, wanting to be loved, wanting to snuggle. She's also our little monster that wakes me up all through the night pulling my hair and biting my toes. I LOVE HER!!!!

I rescued a cat that tested FIV positive. She was pregnant, and the vet wanted to put her down. I refused and talked my mom into keeping her. She had 4 kittens, all of whom tested healthy. She's been at mom's house for 5 years, no major problems yet.

ReplyDeleteMy kitty was diagnosed with FIV last year. He was older, and the vet suspected he'd had it for many years. He lived a long, full, happy life. It was so hard to let him go, but I knew when he let me know it was time.
Sending good thoughts that your kitty is healthy, happy, playful, full of love and brings you daily joy for many, many, years to come!!! :)
